Oscar Fly

Now that I've posted nearly every single worthy look, let's talk my absolute favorite look from Oscar's fashion! I was thoroughly impressed with everyone last night on the red carpet! Seriously, everyone brought their A-game!! There were lots of metallics and gold, as well as, and thankfully, pops of color! Beaded and embellished gowns were also a big hit last night. Now, there was one lady in particular who I was head over heels in love with. Zoe Saldana. That wasn't so hard to figure out, now was it?? I've heard some mixed reviews on her dress, but I'm convinced that those who don't like it, are cahhrazyyy! What is not to love??

Now let's talk Zoe. 2009 was a BIG year for Zoe Saldana. She starred in two of the year's biggest blockbusters: Star Trek and Avatar, and is now the star of the highest grossing film of all time. Incredible. Zoe was also recently named "The Face of the Future" by powerhouse Italian label MaxMara, and is appearing in four films in 2010! I can't get enough of her! She is on fire!!!

Throughout the year, the Dominican actress hit the fashion circuit and never failed to make a statement. She had finallllly arrived. She wowed fans, including myself, with her fashion-forward ensembles, and wore everyone from Emilio Pucci to Chloe. She even catapulted Prabal Gurung to a new height when she wore that red one-shoulder number. Remember that?? I was blown away with nearly everything she wore on the red carpet.

Zoe topped off award season in a major way when she wore a purple ombre Givenchy Couture gown from the Spring 2010 collection. Like I said before, I prayed to the fashion gods that someone would be brave enough to wear this gown at the Oscar's, thankfully they answered my prayers. *A big thanks to her stylist, too! It takes a certain kind of woman to command a dress like this, and no one could have done it justice quite like Zoe. I lose my breath every single time I look at pictures of her wearing it! I really can't imagine what it's like to wear a gown like this! Actually, yes I can!! Seriously, it's like wearing art! Riccardo Tisci is a genius.

I am sooo looking forward to seeing more of Zoe's flyness in the years to come! It can only get better from here!
