So throughout the day I read sooo many mixed reviews about Vanessa Bryant's look at last nights ESPY Awards in LA, which will air this Sunday on ESPN. She showed up with her MVP hubby, THE Kobe Bryant, rockin' a Proenza Schouler Spring '09 jumper & Differa Louboutin pumps, which I completely die for. Now everyone, && I mean e v e r y o n e hated her look except for me of course! && I completely understand & agree that you are 'supposed' to wear clothing that suits your body type & that flatters your figure, but people went off about this look & they went hard. They said she looked pregnant [maybe she is?], bad, horrid, disgusting, like a whore, like a stripper etc. etc. Sadly they called her every name in the book!! But me personally, I think she shut the building down & looked better than every other chick there. Get it mama! ;)
Now I'll agree with the fact that the top of the jumper may have been a little snug & her chest area looked a little suffocated, but just like some women have big behinds, some women have a big chest && ya know what, we just can't hide it! So we gotta live with it!!! Really though, there are bigger problems in the fashion realm than Vanessa Bryant's cleavage! Many people also thought the Proenza Schouler creation was 'shapeless', but its boxiness is what makes it unique to begin with. Of course she could have put the alteration dream team to work before the show to make sure that every stitch & sequin hugged her curves perfectly and so on.. but why take away from such a dramatic piece?? It would have completely lost its edge.
Anyway, so to me, the 2 pieces together [jumper & pumps] looked fly. But one thing that I'm not crazy about is her decision to wear her hair down, especially because it's so dark. Y'all know how I feel when hair is not done right! Now her hair is beautiful, but the way it looks against the black jumper is kind of overwhelming. When you have such a detailed piece on, you want that to be the focal point and for nothing else to really take away from or distract it. So I think if her hair was pulled back/away from her face & the jumper, she would have looked much more polished && definitely more chic.
My point is, I don't think Vanessa Bryant looked 'tasteless' or horrendous, or even like a stripper as some people suggested! I, in fact thought she looked reallly fly! Come on, she looks damn good for having 2 young kids!! You gotta give it to her! She's a badd Mexicana!! Mexican's don't play y'all!! Shoot Hispanic people in general!! lol let me stop!! I loves my peoples! :P

What I love even more is that she wasn't afraid to take a risk when it came to fashion. Isn't that what it's all about? Being daring & unlike everyone else, all the while staying true to yourself.. People will either love it or hate it, either way, that's what it's all about, that's what being fly is. [I'm sure the endless cash supply doesn't hurt. Help a fellow Latina out por favorrr! gracias y besos lol] && serious business people, she has Proenza Schouler on!!! How 'tasteless' could you look in one of their creations!? Clearly the woman knows a thing or two about being fly! Let the jealousy/hating among the masses ensue.

Uh I just wrote a novel!! lol Seriously though, after reading all the hateful comments regarding Vanessa Bryant's 'outfit' today I was really bothered [honestly she has so many haters it's not even funny! smh]. People were talking recklessly about her & saying really hateful things && it just made me think to myself-Why do people do this? For what?? What's the point? The idea that women, or should I say girls, go out of their way every single day to be malicious towards one another blows my mind, I don't get it. I'm really sooo curious to know why women hate on each other so much! We're supposed to support each other, love each other, & encourage each other, not bring each other down! Just spread love y'all!! Just spread the love...
